NORTH OTAGO HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

ANNUAL MEETING. The adjourned annual meeting of this Society took place in Wear-street Hall last night. There were present:—Messrs. H. Connell (President), Falconer, Simpson, Spratt, Montagu, Lemon, Kidd, Earle, Paterson, Morris, S. E. Smith, Hartley, and Leigh (Hon. Sec). After the minutes of last annual meeting w<.re read and confirmed, the report was read by the Secretary. It was stated by the Secretary that (.there were a number of outstanding acf ft

would place the balance on the other side. The annual subscriptions, which were now due, would, however, bring up the funds of the Society, and enable them to meet all demands. The report and balance-sheet, after a little discussion, were adopted. The election of officers was aftewards proceeded with. The following is the result:—President, Mr. FT. Connell ; Vice-President, Mr. Ki.ld ; Hon. Treasurer, Mr. Falconer; Hou. Secretary, Mr. Spratt. Committee, Gardeners— Messrs. Hartley, Simpson, Forsyth, Leigh ; Amateurs Messrs. M'Laren, Lemon, G. Glen, and It. L. Rule. Mr. Earle intimated that he would place a room at the disposal of the Society for the purpose of holding Committee meetings. There was some discussion as to alteringl the fee for membership, and it was agreed that a special meeting be hold for that purpose on July 15. After a vote of thanks to Mr. Paterson for past services, and also to the retiring office-bearers, the meeting terminated. I
