William Fowler, mill owner, was put on his trial, charged with an indecent Mary Wood. Mr. 0. K. T'uton, Crown Prosecutor, conducted t'ie prosecution, and the accused xss ably d.-t' p.'\-'d by Mr. O'Meagher, of Oanuiru, •i•.-1 Mr. J. T. Alston, of Palmeraton. T'-!3 trial lasted the a-iiolo of the day. Tho jury returned a verdict of Not guilty. The Court is now proceeding with other cases.
