May 27. A fire occurred on the premises of Mr. Halliday, cabinet-maker, this morning. It broke out under the window near the door. Considerable damage v. as done to the workshop. The loss is estimated at Lir.oo. The building was insured in the South British for LI3OO. Serious floods have occurred at Coromandel, destroying several bridges. The miners' races, tramway, and houses suffered considerably. Many landslips took place. Sir J. Coode inspects Auckland harbor and dock to-niorrow. o
