May 25. A fire occurred at Blue Spur yesterday which destroyed a five-room dwelling house belonging to Roche, a shareholder in the Otago Company's claim. It is not known how it originated, but it is suspected that it commenced in the kitchen. Roche was absent at the time that the fire was discovered, but on going home he made an effort to save some furniture and clothing, but only succeeded in saving a few articles belonging to bis wife.
