S Fltoil OLT, OWN (JORUEsrONDENT.J Duneuin, May 17. The following special cablegram lias been received by the Star : Tiie s.s. City of Melbourne, bound from Sydney to Noumea, arrived there with eight feet of water in her hold. The pumps were kept going all the way. The cargo was destroyed. Government fines the captain LfiOiiO. The vessel was released at Higgiuson's Bond. COOKTOWN. Two hundred Chinese, for Dunedin, arrived to-day.
