*~ The following letter with reference to the late rifle match between the Oamaru Rifle Volunteers and the Bruce Rifles, ■ has been handed to us for publication : Milton, Ist May, 1878. Captain Sumpter. Dear Sir—l find my secretary omitted to send you the scores in our last match, I now hasten to do so, and very much regret that he did so omit it. We made a mistake in firing the 200 yards standing, but hope in our next match to reverse the position we now take—that is, the lowest.—l am, &c, E. Pettit, Capt. Bruce I\i(les. The following are the scores of the Bruce team, from which it will be seen that the total is 31 behind the score made bv the Oamaru team, whose total was 4-fiR :
