COOPER AND BAILEY'S CIRCUS AND MENAGERIE.

The final or Cooper and Bailey'q ■ 'UcaS" and Menagerie was given last evening, and was attended by about 3000 persons, mauy of whom were visitors from Waimate, the 5.15 train from the North having brought down a large number of passengers. At the conclusion of the main performance, there was a "side show," for admission to which an additional shilling was charged. The principal attractions iu this were the performances of the educated pig Bismarck, the red-hot iron biting of an individual with a mouth impervious to heat, and some ventriioquial pt rformance, which would liave been good had not the ventriloquist i;\(Julged in some vulgarisms. * very short time after the conclusion of' the performance, the whole o.J tiw paraphernalia was placed r.n t'uo railway trucks, and started on its way to Timaru. The whole of the work was performed without a single hitch, and great credit is due to those entrusted with the carrying out of the arrangements. The first train left Oamaru at half-past 11 o'clock, and consisted of six the ponveyanpo ho>iie' of vis tors from Waimate, thirteen loaded wagons, and a break van. This was followed, at 2 a.m., by another trqin with the balance of the Circus and Maniigerje appurtenances. This train comprised live passenger carriages, forty-two loaded wagons, and a break van. The ladies and members of the band proceeded to Timaru by the ordinary train this morning. The company will perform at Timaru to-day.
