There was considerable excitement at Queenstown in c>nsequ«nce of a rumor that Mr. Hon, solicitor, had been arrested on the previous day for contempt of Court at the hearing of the Gladstone mining case at Macetown. It appears that he was arrested by Mr. Sti.-itfoni's order, but, was relea-cd at the rising of the Court after making a qualified analogy. Mr. Finn intends bringing an action in the .Supreme Court for L2,O!I0 damag-s, and I 2.000 for injury from the YVaden's alleged abuse of authority. The Ciutba School Committees has plumped for the ' cv Mr. Banuerinan.
