A warrant has been signed by the Audit Commissioner and the Governor, in accordance with the resolution of the Assembly, authorising the 45th section of the Constitution Act to be dealt with as to special appropriations during the present financial year.
March 12. Captain Glover arrived last night per Chimborazo. There is a probability of an early telggrriphic conference in Melbourne. The difference between the Council and the Assembly is in a fair way of settlement.
Ai'EIAiDE, March 11. The Government has telegraphed to Sydney that it is willing to join ill negotiations for a Customs union between New South Wales and Queensland, and has also asked a month's renewal of the existing convention.
Sydney, March 12. The case of supposed smallpox on the City of Sydney is not variola. The steamer is not yet released from quarantine.
(Ciirns, Queensland, has been visited by a great cyclone. Eight buildings were totally destroyed, and others much injured" The plies Is in ruins. No lives were lost.
