A large meeting, for peace, held in Hyde Park, was scattered by an immense Conservative demonstration.
The London papers consider the peace conditions are excessive.
Earl Derby, in replying to a question, said the Government had received no information concerning the peace conditions, and remarked that if an Egyptian tribute by the Porte were demanded, it will require serious consideration. <j> DIRECT AUSTRALIAN NEWS.
