TRAINING NOTES.

[by telegraph, from our own correspondent.] Dunedin, February 27.

Very little work was done this morning. Tenipleton and Titania wont a mile and a half at a steady pace ; both of them are very fit. Punga did a mile very slowly, with her hoof strapped round. Kildare and Shillelagh went twice round fast, and Starlight did a three-mile gallop on the tan. Foul Play went a mile and a half in groat form, hue ho is a little big yet. Trump Card, Bribery, Longlands, and Ariel only walked, as did Hippocampus; Izaak Walton, Oboron, Amulet, Unknown, the Virginia colt, Captain Douglas, Lima and Chancellor ; and Malvoner, Cloth of Gold, and Atlantic had a short spin together. Jack the Flat, Banjo, and Exile did good work. Harwiek and Little Dan did two miles on the tan, taking the hurdles in their course. Oanielia was out, but did not jump. Sir William went twice round the tan, fast : and Swede was sent a mile and a half alone.

In Calcutta sweeps last night, averaging LIOS, Templetoii sold generally at L-8 ; Hippocampus, L3O ; Ariel, L 27 ; and Titania, L 7 ; while the rest fetched hardly more than the upset price. The weather is simply magnificent.
