NORTH OTAGO RIFLE ASSOCIATION.

The firing in the February competition was completed during Saturday afternoon, but the shooting at the latter portion of the day did not make much alteration to the general result, those tiring in the i morning scpiad being still at the top of i the list, the only other winner of a prize i being Sergt. Patterson, of Otepopo, who i made oO points out, of a possible s<> ; but i there seems to be some doubt, as to ! whether or not lie is not disqualified. If seems that he fired alone during the afternoon, and the Secretary in transmitting his score gave the ranges as 200 and 400 yards, instead of 200 and 500 yards, and until it has been ascertained whether or not he fired at the proper ranges, it cannot be decided whether Sergeant Patterson is entitled to the second prize. The rest of the Otepopo men were exceedingly unfortunate, none of them making -mything like their usual scores. The light on the target was very bad, owing to the butt throwing a shade across it, which rendered the bull's-eye totally undiscernible. The five prizes, according to the scores, fall to the following shootists : —lst, Vol. Scott, No. 1 Company ; 2nd, Sergt. Patterson, Otepopo ; .'srd, Sergt. King, No. 1 ; 4th, Sub-Lieut. Morris, No. 1 ; sth, Dr. Be Lautour, Artillery. Should Sevgt. Patterson be disqualified, Vol. R. Harding will take the fifth priae. The following are the score* of those who made .'SO points and over :
