TRIAL OF THE OSBORNE HARVESTER AND BINDER.

♦ Theftial of this machine on.Tuesday \ - 4 t ; not -satisfying the farmers who -were present, by their request the American a-rent, 3lr. Case, consented to stay o ver until to-day, anil cut the ~r „ r , of wheat in the paddock m front of Mr. J. T. Evans' house <-n the >'orth Koad. We may here state that the piece of crop belonging to Messrs. J. an ,l K. Paton, at Awamoko, which had to be left unfinished on Tuesday last, „,i account of the dividing rod of the machine having given way, was nl ost successfully cut and bound on Wednesday morning. .On arriving at 3fr. Evans' paddock, wo found the Inachine in full swing, and certainly the work done must have given general satisfaction,' every bundle, with the exception of one, being bound with the utmost precision and firmness. The crop operated upon was anything but in favour of the machine, being too thin in the straw to support the heads, and consequently a lai!»u quantity was laid in every direction, winch causes the paddock to look as if the knives had missed some of the crop. We also think that if the agent had not been in too great, a hurry it would have been better for him to cnt only against the wind, which was blowing very strongly at the time. We intend to give a full (Inscription of the machine in our next issue.
