NORTH OTAGO TURF CLUB.
The Committee of thp Otago Turf Club held a meeting at the Empire Hotel last evening. There were presentMessrs. O'Meagher, President (in the chair), Lumsden (Treasurer), Greenfield, Lintott, Longford, Thomson, Doolcy, Shalders, and Grant (Hon. Secretary). NOMINATIONS. At 8 o'clock the Secretary commenced opening the nominations, which, as will be seen in another column, were very numerous, and comprise nearly all the best "blood" in the Colony. The total amount received for entries amounted to Ll3l, being far in excess of the money received last year. ipNTJTKq. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and, after some discussion, confirmed. GROUND COMMITTEE. After receiving the report of the Ground Committee, it was proposed by Mr. Lumsden, " That the Committee be empowered to purchase the grand stand from Mr. Maitland."
