Star of the South, Captain Christian. havinir taken on board 30 tons of cargo, left for N<tr hern ports last evening. The Oainaru and Thmedin Steamship Company's s.s. Waitaki, Captain Kdie. arrived from Dunedin at 1 p.m. to-day with ab'>nt SO tons cargo and a number of passengers. She will leave again at the nsnal hour to-morrow. The barqne THamant returned to her anchorage last evening after a forced cruise of two days. The ketch Franklin B-lle, Captain Bradshaw. sailed for bunediu last evening with a cargo of pmdnee. The p.s. Samson, Captain Jones, is due here from Dunedin at 3.30 r>.m. to-morrow
