At the \Vannate Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday a man named MacDowoll Wiis charged with stabbing a man named Goodsnii, and was committed for trial at the criminal sittings of the District Court to be holden in March. A post mortem examination was held on tho body of the infant child of Margaret Wilson, a young woman who was tried last session of the Supremo Court, charged with sending a threatening letter to a man named Courtis, demanding money. The child was born on Saturday last, and was apparently healthy, but died' yesterday. The result of past mortem examination is that a coroner's inquest will be held this afternoon.

At a meeting of the Tiinaru Boating Club, the Committee ant homed an order from Salter in England, at once, for a two pair-onred stumped outrigged boats, similar to those used in Chrislclmrcli. The Magistrate ultimately decided that part of the property on Railway Reserve was not liable to berated.
