PORT CHALMERS. February 2.

A seaman of the barque August Freidrich, has been the victim of a murderous attack by Sue Don, the Japanese cook, who threw the man's dog overboard. Words and blows ensued, and the Japanese, getting worsted, seized a meat chopper, and inflicted a dreadful blow on the man Neilson's head, fracturing the skull. A second sailor was also cut across the arm by the Japanese, who was arrested by Sergeant Hauton. Dr. O'Donoghue attended Neilson, and found his skull fractured.
