The Premier informed :i deputation that he would not suspend immigration, but would rather seek the introduction of immigrants of the right stamp. The Famine Fund will probably reach L 20.000. The Government has received information that the penalties incurred by the Forbes' Postal Contract has been arranged by the payment of L 10,00 0; divided between this Colony and 2\ew Zealand.
A deputation from the Agricultural Society requested the removal of the prohibition of the introduction of stock* from England, and tile Premier replied satisfactorily. A monthly service has been arranged between London and Australia with the following tirst-clas's steamers : —Lusitania, Chimborazo, Cuzco, Garonne, and Aconcagua.
