Jeremiah O'Keefe pleaded guilty to having boon drunk and disorderly lasf night in Severn-street, and was discharged with a caution.
Edward Sheohan, charged with being drunk rnd disorderly in Thames-street at an early hour this morning, pleaded guilty, and was liit'-d 10s.
I Thomas Gifiiiii Given, against whom I there w\::\- t.wt.ni-y-two previous conviejtiuns. pleaded filthy to having been drunk and disorderly in Thames-street ai an early hour this morning, and was lined 10s , with tiio upturn of 4S hours' imprisonment. CRUBI/rV TO A IiOKSK. Kedmond Condon was charged with cruelly ill-treating a horse on the 10th msianv. Sub-Inspector Smith conducted the prosecution. \V. J. Steward gave evidence to the effect that on Thursday afternoon the defendant had been loading shingle near r.ho old boat-house on the beach. Tile mises either could not or would not draw -.lie h>ad. The shaft horse had made •i. vera! attempts to draw the load, Inn lotwithstaudiiig which the defendant took i long-handled shovel and beat the hnrse iver the b.iek ami loins with it, kicked it ■ n t:ie ribs with his foot, punched it in die muzzle with his fist, and sawed its mouth about with the i-eius. This he repeated several times. William Ross gave corroborative evidence. The defendant, made a rambling statement, in his defence. His Worship inflicted a, flue of 40s , inchiding cos's of witnesses.
