On and after January the Otli, mails will close as follows : For Dnnedin and intermediate olhccs dailv, at (J a.m. For Maheuo daily, at ti a in. uuu. 2 p.m. For Kakaimi daily, at 2 p.m. For Papakaio and Duntroon daily, at 3.45 p.m. For Awatnoko on Tuesday and Thursa&\, at 3.45 p.m. For Maerewhemia, Upper Furry, and Oniarama on Tuesday, at 3.45 p.m. I ForPukeuri and Waitaki daily at 6' a.m. For Waimate, Tiiuaru, Christchnrch, and Kortb daily, at (> a.m. and 3.45 p.m. For Weston, Teaneraki, and Ngapara, daily at 3.45 p.m. For Dnnedin, Port Chalmers, and South. per s.s. Waitaki, on Wednesday and Saturday, at 10 a.m.; per p.s. Samson, on Monday ami Thursday, at 5.30 p.m. Mails for Australian C'oloiaes, via Bluff, will close here on Wednesday, 9th inst., at JO a.m. Letters may be registered during the ordinary' office hours, and for despatch by any mail one hour before the closing of such mail.
