A letter was read from Mr. J. Lemon applying for permission to erect a building in Tyiie-sti'eet for the Union Bank, and enclosing plans. —The plans were approved of, and permission given. A letter was road from Mr. J. Henderson offering to supply the necessary pipes for the Waterworks.—lt was decided to acknowledge the letter, and state that the Council did not think it advisable to order the pipes at present.
