Ran of Pasha is organising a camp of 50,000 troops at Adrianople. December 3. The Roumanians have occupied Lorn and Palarika. At Lorn the Turks retreated towards Widdcn.
According to the Russian official despatches, the Turks have abandoned and the Russians occupied Oho/iobeni, near Biitouir.
December 4. Perfect communication was opened between Erzeromn and Trebizond.
Russian troops are wintering on the plains of Ressini. The Russian Advance Guard are at Devebnkori.
TheTurkishtroops are making desperate resists nou on the Sophia road, Mehomet Pasha attacked the .Russians. Tin; Turkish left wing retreated to Kawauli, sonlii of Hiiitiza, where the}' were defeated with great loss, and were compelled to fall back.

Scleiman has captured Elena. He took man 1 / prisoners and a quantity of war material. The Russian loss is estimated at 3000 killed.
December 8. A Turkish force attacked the Russian Geiieral Kakowitza, wdio compelled them to fall back.

December 10. The Russian loss up to 17th November was 74,858 men.
Recording to an unofficial Turkish repr/i't, Plevna was amply provisioned for thb siege, and several Russian attacks were repulsed.
December ] 1. Plevna has surrendered after severe fighting. The garrison was reduced to starvation. Osinan Pasha was severely wounded at the last attempt to break through the Russian lines. By the fill of Plevna, Bulgaria and the North Balkans are open to the Russians. December 15. Thirty thousand prisoners, with fourteen thousand siek and wounded, were captured at Plevna, besides a large numnumber of guns and other material. Osman Pasha is allowed a guard of honour before his tent, and the use of the Emperor's carriage. The Servians have commenced hostilities against Turkey. The capture of Plevna has secured Kainhogas and Slivna Passes from attack. The Turks, under .Suleiman Pasha, have captured Tirnova, Papkoi. and Keoropa.
