After the e\ idence had been taken, his Worship dismissed the case. FUHIOI.'S DRIVIMi. John Lewis and .Robert Neill (expressmen) were charged with having driven furiously along Itehen and Tyne streets on the 27th October, and were lined 7s. Gd. each. LATJCENY. Christian Messech, a coloured individual, was charged with having, on the 18ch October, "ttoloii a (juantity of articles the property of John Moor--, and of the value cf about L 6 12s. Prisoner pleaded Not guilty. The evide ce went to show that prisoner had resided for some days-at prosecuto's house, leaving there on the ISth instant. 0 i the same dav, prosi cut ji'a Wife a'so left the house, ostensibly to pay a visit to her daughter at Mae ewhenua, but actually for the purpose of following the colour ;d Adonis with whom she had become enamoured, joined the piisouer at the raiavay-scation, aud they travelled together to 'iimaru, the
prisoner paying the railway faro for both, 'l hc f' llowing morning the daughter discovered that a number 'k articles were missing, consisting of beuclothing, wearing apparel, etc. These were afterwa ds found in the house which was occupied by the p'isoner and his inamorata in Timaru, by Detective Neill. The case was remanded until to-morrow.
