October 21. The Singapore-Penang cable is interrupted, but steamers are frequent. October 22. Subscriptions towards the- Indian Famine Relnf Fund are pouring in rapidly. The Rev. Charles Clarke preached in the Wesleyan Church last night in aid of the fund, and L 77 was collected. Hundreds were unable to obtain admission, the church being full half an hour before the usual time for the service. The Govevnmjnt are advised, under date S.m Francisco, October 18, t'*at the City of Sydney left San Francisco on October 10 with the London mails of September 20. The Australia, which left Auckland on the 26r,h September, arrived at San Francisco on October 17, one day in advance of contract time.
