October 19. The Star says that a movement is on foot to establish here a Proprietary School to give a high class education. The High School was originally intended to furnish it. It is proposed to issue one hundred LIOO shares, and as soon as fifty are subscribed, a preliminary meeting will be held, and the necessary arrangements made. A site for a school, affording proper play-grounds, is to be secured within two miles of the city. The head master is to be selected in England, at a salary of L7OO. October 20. About LI7OO will be subscribed in Dunedin for the Indian Famine Relief Fund.
