(FS.OM OUE. OWN CORKESrONDENTS.) 0 DUNEDIN. September 21. Charges of sly-grog-selling were preferred against Ned. Kirk, James Ward Cotton, James H. Eamsden, Michael Bob-nds, and Alfred P. Smith, at the City Police Court this morning. Judgment was reserved in all the cases.
Messrs. Guthrie and Larnach have received intimation from Brisbane that their exhibits of tub-, buckets, cheese-moulds, &c; have obtained the best prize at ths Queensland Exhibition. The Harbour Board has adopted the recommendation of the Finance Committee to reduce the salary of their Engineer to L6OO, and allow him to take private practice.
