WELLINGTON.
September 18. Mary Ann Trueman, the wife of a shoemaker, and her daughter, Ellen Mudgeway, have just been arrested on a charge of murdering the nev/ly-born child of one of her daughters. The crime was committed about three weeks ago.
KUMARA. September 17. Patrick Sculley, a miner, was killed this morning in a claim north of the Teremakau. O NELSON. September 17. At the District Court to-day William Harvey was convicted of perjury, and sentenced to one year's imprisonment.
