OTEPOPO ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Otepopo Road Board was held yesterday. Present Messrs. Anderson (Chairman), Henderson (Treasurer), Diehl, M'Donald, Marshall, Watson, Darroc'i, Mitchell, Falconer, Ross, and Russell. Mr. Diehl proposed, and Mr. Henderson seconded, that the minutes of last meeting be adopted as read. The outward correspondence was read and approved. The inward correspondrnce was read and considered as follows :—A letter from Mr. R. Morrison, requesting that the road leading to his property should be repaired. The Engineer was directed to report on it, and also on the road at the back of Mr. George Marshall's ground. A letter from the Waitaki Board, requesting that a sub-committee of this Board be appointed to make arrangements for Engineers in conjunction with the united Boards. Messrs. Falconer, Henderson, and Anderson were appointed, with power to act. The off ers for the banking account were then opened, when it was decided by a majority of 1 (G to 5) that the offer of the Bank of Jfew Zealand be accepted. Messrs. Henderson and Darroch reported that they had inspected the place where Mr. Fenwick's fence was wrong, and that they had no objection to its remaining as it is, provided Mr. Femvick pays all expenses. Mr. Henderson moved, and Mr. Russell stconded, that rise Postmaster be instructed to give all Road Board letters to the Clerk, even though addressed to the Chairman. On the motion of Mr. Falconer, seconded by Mr. Diehl, the Clerk was instructed to invite tenders for contract 56. Mr. Falconer moved, and Mr. Mitchell seconded, that the Engineer be instructed to prepare plan and specification for the formation of that road on the south bank of the Kakamii river, commencing at the northern corner of Section 34, Block IV.. and extending to Kakanui port. Cost not to exceed LIOO. Mr. Donaldson's letter, received at last meeting, was tlien considered, when Mr. ;
| Dtehl proposed, and Mr. M'Doxald ' seconded, that the Engineer be instructed ! to prepare plan and specification for the formation of the Break-neck Road and the erection of a bridge over the creek, and that the road be deviated to pass ; through Houghton's land, i Several accounts were passed for payi ment, and the Board adjourned.
