(From the Press Agency.) +-. LATEST WAR NEWS. RUSSIANS AGArN SUFFER DEFEAT. 1200 RUSSIANS KILLED. London, August 19. Ten Russian cavalry regiments, 35,000 infantry, with 110 guns, attacked Mukhtar Pasha's army yesterday near Kars. They fought all day, but the Russians were compelled to fall back, with a loss of 1200. The Turkish loss was only 100. The Russians have re-occupied Kustendi. Bombay, August 20, 1.44. Skirmishes have taken place in the vicinity of Rustchuk. A Turkish official despatch states that a detachment from the garrison repulsed the Russians. The Turkish force is near Dobrudscha, and the Russians are advancing against them. The Circassian emigration to Turkey is increasing. A Russian official despatch admits that the Russian reconnaissance was repulsed at Osman Bazar. Roodervish has carried advanced Russian positions at Batoum. August 19, 7.43. Sulieman Bey is at Elena, north of the Balkans. Salonica is in a state of siege, and Poti is deserted. Hobart Pasha is at Sinope. Turkey is increasing her army.
