MUNICIPAL COUNCIL.

A special meeting of the Municipd Council was held last evening, at the Council Chambers. There were present His Worship the M;:yjr, and Councillors Headland, Mainland, Pivefcer, Spence, and Liddle. ALTERATIONS TO BUILDING. An application from Mr. J. Johnston for permission to make certain alterations to Mr. Cleghorn's shop, Waterloo House, was granted. TRANSFER OF LEASES. Lari-cin to Mr. '1 'nomas Procter; and of Section 4. Block XLIL, from Mr. George Greenfield to Mr. A. M'Coikindale. These transfers to be granted on the condition of all arrears ui lent being paid. MAYOR'S HONORARIL'M. His Worship the Mayor then withdrew, and Councillor Headland was voted to tie chair.
