ST. PAUL'S YOUNG MEN'S ASSOCIATION.

The weekly meeting of the above Association was held last night, when an interesting and animated debate took place, the subject being, " Which is the better form of government—Monarchical or Republican?" The debate was opened by Mr. Cormack, who read a long and exhaustive paper in favour of Republicanism. The Monarchical side was then taken up and ably defended by several speakers, Messrs. M'Pherson, Mollison, and Young strongly opposing Republicanism as it at pi-esent exists, and upholding the British Constitution and the form of government under which we live in this country. They averred that the subjects of Great Britain are as free under Monarchical Government as are the citizens of the Great Republic. The Chairman (Mr. M'Farlane) pronounced in favour of the Monarchical form of government. A manuscript journal is to be established among the members.
