ACQUITTAL OF MRS. EE ID. July 14. Mrs. Reid lias been acquitted. The jury, after being locked up all night, came into Court at 9 this morning and said that there was not the faintest- probability of agreeing. The Judge hinted that he would have to lock them up again, and the foreman then asked for a quarter of an hour's respite. At 9.30 the jury again came into Court with a verdict of Not guilty. His Honor Judge Johnston said that he hoped the case would be a warning to others.
