KUMARA.
ME. BARFF'S POLITICAL VIEWS. July 13. Mr. Barffs meeting was largely attended, and a unanimous vote of confidence was passed. He will support Government in a measure, but he is not satisfied with Government action in regard to Counties Bill, waste lands, gold duty, and new police regulations. He is in favour of reforming the Legislative Council, of establishing a school of mines, consolidating goldfields laws, larger subsidies to hospitals, alteration of licensing laws, and of constituting Education Boards. He would support continuance of the honorarium, expenditure on public works, erection of Teremakau bridge, and improvement in electoral registration.
