(From the Press Agency.) DIRECT AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Sydney, July 11. Owing to a breakdown in the machinery the shipment of frozen meat to England, has been postponed indefinitely. Sailed.—Rotorua and Albion. NEWS PER TORRES STRMTS MAIL. Sydney, July 11. The Torres Straits mail has just arrived with London news to May 25. General MalakofF reports that at the Russian capture of Ardahan, immense quantities of artillery, stores, and twentyfive Krupp guns were captured, and large numbers of Turks taken prisoners. .. . The fire of the artilleiy was admirable, and speedily made a breach in the walls. The Turks fled when the assault took place, leaving great numbers dead. The Turkish Commandant was ordered to Court-Martial for not offering a better resistance. An encounter has occurred between a British gunboat and Spanish smugglers at Gamp Bay. The smugglers surrendered.
