General MalakofF reports that at the Russian capture of Ardahan, immense quantities of artillery, stores, and twentyfive Krupp guns were captured, and large numbers of Turks taken prisoners. .. . The fire of the artilleiy was admirable, and speedily made a breach in the walls. The Turks fled when the assault took place, leaving great numbers dead. The Turkish Commandant was ordered to Court-Martial for not offering a better resistance. An encounter has occurred between a British gunboat and Spanish smugglers at Gamp Bay. The smugglers surrendered.
