The Bulli had 450 tons on board, and was bound from Newcastle to Port Lempriere, when she struck on a rock at Murray's Pass, and sank in five fathoms of water. All lives were saved. It is stated that Captain Panter, senior naval officer of the Colonial Naval Forces, lias resigned, owing to the appointment by the Government of Lieutenant Tandy to the Cerberus. Sir Wm. Jervois' report is expected about the middle of the month. He then will proceed to Sydney, en route to Queensland, returning to Melbourne in the first week of August ; then will proceed overland to Adelaide, where he will remain two or three months. He will \ isit Tasmania and New Zealand in January or February next. Over a million acres of land were selected last year. A handball match for the championship of Australia is arranged between Langan and tlannon for LIOO a-side, to be paid to the winner of the best five games. The Legislative Assembly, on the motion of Mr. Graham Berry, seconded by Sir J. M'Oulloch, adjourned as a mark of respect to the late Viscount Canterbury. Adelaide. In the libel case, King, the proprietor of the Advertiser, was acquitted. The Chief Justice, in summing up, expressed : himself favourable to the greatest liberty being given to public writers. Tenders are called for a direct telegraph line to Melbourne. The Bank of Adelaide has declared the usual dividend of 10 per cent. Tenders are called for the construction of the Port Augusta Railway. The Government has telegraphed for an extra immigrant ship, to leave England in August.
