NAPIER.

THE LIBEL BUSINESS. June 20. The other two libel actions brought by the proprietors of the Telegraph against the Herald have been withdrawn in consequence of what fell from the judge last night, when lie refused to certify for j costs. He said that the plaintiff would have been wise if he had not brought the action ; that the words relied on did not in his (the Judge's) opinion apply to the plaintiff, and that he had suffered no damage. The Supreme Court to-day was occupied with the Special Jury case of Neal and i Close and Hunter (of Wellington) versus Keith. It is scarcely likely to close today. Wilson, of Nap : er, and Bell, of Wellington, are for the plaintiffs, and Gordon Allan, of Wellington, and Lee, of Napier, for the defendants.
