CHAMBER OF COMMERCE RECOMMENDATIONS. A "DESERTED VESSEL. June 20. At a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce, consideration of the proposal of the Government, as recommended by the Committee of the Chamber to reclaim land and bring the railway into connection with the present wharf, instead of building a distinct railway wharf, was adjourned on the motion of Mr. \Y. Johnston, M.H.R. An amendment, that the proposal was inadmissible, had been previously rejected by a majority of ten to one. The question of legislation re bills of sale, so as to prevent the defrauding of , creditors, was considered. It was agreed I to leave the matter in the hands of Mr. Johnston to bring before the House, and to communicate with other Chambers of Commerce throughout the Colony on the subject. June 21. On Tuesday evening the steamer Luna went out to look for th« derelict brig Star
n of the Mersey, and found her off Alligator e Point, only a few miles from where she d was supposed to have gone down. The is vessel was riding with two anchors down, g There was no one on board, the vessel \ having evidently been left in a hurry, the 3 sextant and chart and some oilskins and clothes being left behind. The vessel was in a good condition, being well supplied with provisions, and having only two feet of water in her hold.
