AUCKLAND.
A MAN MISSING. GAS EXPLOSION. June 16. The Zealandia It ft at 2.30. Messrs. Fay and Davics, ar.d 14 others are passengers. Charles Rowley, Thames, the prospector, is still missing. It is now generally believed that lie was the person whose drowning cries were heard on the wharf on Thursday night. The steam tug Lionel, while crossing the Manukau lav, broke her propeller on the bank, find was in imminent danger. She sailed back to Onehunga. An explosion took place last night at the Loan and Mercantile Agency offices, caused by a cleik named Hosking entering a room on the upper floor with a lighted match an escape of gas. Hosking was slightly ' injured. Glass rom the windows was blown across the street.
