THE WOOL SALES. ANOTHER VICTIM OF INTEMPERANCE. PROSECUTION UNDER THE FRAUDULENT DEBTORS ACT. THE MARKETS. June 14. The Loan and Mercantile Agency report, under date June 11 :—The wool sales progress firmly. Competition on French account is active. Greasy, market tinner ; medium and inferior greasy has advanced a halfpenny to a penny ; combing, washed, market firmer ; unchanged. June 15. Thomas Daly, a fireman on board the Hinemoa, was found drowned at Te Aro beach this morning. He was last seen alive at ten o'clock last night, somewhat under the influence of liquor. There will be an inquest te-morrow. Charles Grey, confectioner, who was arrested last night under the Fraudulent Debtors Act, was brought up this morning and remanded till Monday. It is said a strong case will be made against n, for having removed a quantity of goods not discovered to the trustee of the estate, and that the creditors are determined to carry on the prosecution.
