COMMERCIAL INTELLIGENCE.
Little alteration has taken place in prices since bur last report. Wheat has still a* upward tendency, and little now remains in fanners' hands. Oats have advanced a little, and higher prices may be expected, as the Australian markets are bare of stocks. Barley is still unsaleable, and heavy stocks are held. Flour is nominally as before, as millers still decline taking orders. Oatmeal has been raised by local millers L 3 per ton, owing to the scarcity of good milling oats. Prices, f.o.b , are as follow : Wheat, 6s to 6s 6d. Oats, 3s to 3s 4d. Flour, Ll7 to Ll7 10s. Oatmeal, Ll7 to LlB Bran, L 4. Pollard, L 6. Potatoes, L 3. TIMARU. This morning's Timaru Herald reports as follows :—Few transactions in gram have taken place since our last lepoit, and deliveries by rail have been comparatively light. Wheat is quoted at from 5s to 6s, for g-.iod samples; and oats from 2s 3d to 2s 9d. Potatoes from L2 to L2 ss.
