The new Ministry consists of all the old members of the former Berry Government. Messrs. Service and Casey declined to join, but promised friendly support. The House will not be able to meet for actual business for five or six weeks, owing to Ministerial re-elections. The Berry and Davis scandal concluded by the latter accepting an apology, which has not been published, and lie will be again a candidate for the Chairmanship of Committee. Several of the members will, it is said, be petitioned against. Blackham, elected for Sandhurst, is an uncertificated bankrupt, and cannot take his seat, which therefore before belongs to Angus M'Kay, the next highest on the poll. The weather is unsettled. Several shipping casualties are reported along the coast. Lynar, post and telegraph manager at Belfast, has been arrested for embezzlement.
Sands, accountant of the Bank of Victoria at Kilmore, committed suicide by drowning, in a fit of temporary insanity. Business is dull.
