Fleming and Fe ley report that they held a sale of laud on .Saturday at their ■teres, Tyne-street, on account • f the Trustees in the estate of John Richmond (James Esq , Mr. E. A. Gibbon, and Mr. JP. Spence. There was a very large attendance, and the bidding was unusually spirited. The first lot offered was an Educational Reserve in the Papakaio district, of 266 acres, an annual rental of L 133 3s. 3d. A start was made at L.IOO per annum, and after a spirited run, it wa< sold for L 230. 'I he next lot offered was a freehold property of 100 acres. This was started at L 8 per acre, and eventually found a purchaser in Mr. Garron, at LlO ss. per acre. The next lot was Mr. E. A. Gibbon's farm of 80 acres, at Papakaio. The first bid was L 7 per acre, and after a keen competition between Dr. Garland and Mr. Isaac Johnston, it was knocked down to the latter gentleman at L 9 ss. j er acre. The last lot oifered was Mr. Spence's house and section in Greta-st et. It was purchased by Mr. James 1 iddle. for L3OO. They also report having sold piivafely the Maerewhenua Hotel, to Mr. Roderick Mackenzie, of this town, th-* price being LISOO ; surplus furniture, L2CO; the bar and bar business to be taken at a valuation. They further report the sale of 12,00 J bushels <>f wheat at 4s. 6d. less 2i per cent ; 1*2,000 bushels at 43. 6d. nett cash; 500s) l u-she's at 45.; 3000 bushels, at 4s. sd. nett cash; and 1500 bushels, inferior, at 3s. 7Ad.
