Wheat has been in slightly better demand, and an advance in price has been established, by the English telegrams announcing an advance of 25 per cent, in the Home market; bnt as this is caused solely by speculation on the part of Americans, it is doubtful if the price will be maintained, and many holders of good-sized parcels Lave wisely advantage of the present spurt and quitted at good paying prices. Oats are in little demand, as prices m •ther markets show a downward tendency, and few, if any, orders are coming to hand. Bab lit is quite unsaleable, no buyers being in the market. Potatoes are offering freely at former prices, -but as stocks are large, no improvement is expected. Floor has advanced in price, consequent on the demand for, and improved price of, wheat. We hear that several large sales have been made by local millers during the last few days. Pkahl Baklet. —A local miller has commenced manufacturing this article, and is bringing out a first-class sample. Other quotations are unaltered. The following are the current prices : Wheat, 4s 8d to ss, for prime samples ; oats, 2s to 2s 4d, for feed and milling respectively ; barley, nominal —no sales; jjotatoes, L2 to L2 ss; flour, Ll4 to LI4 10s, f.o.b. ; sharps, L 5, f.o.b. ; bran, L 3, f.o.b. ; f.o.b.
