ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.
[Wc wish it to lie most distinctly understood that we are not responsible for the opinions e :pressed by our correspondents.] CLEANLINESS AND GODLINESS. TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —On arriving in this town I was struck with the extremely mild, honest, honourable, and godly tone of the community. Wearied with this, I sought for consolation in the shape of a bath ; " But in a city full, Oh ! it was oitiful, Bath there was none."
Several years ago the idea of providing the wherewithal for cleansing was mooted. It died a natural death. A few months ago the same idea was agitated through the columns of your paper ; yet still I find myself in the awkward position of being either a dirty saint or an unwashed sinner.
Cannot the numerous meetings held on the subject come to some conclusion, and thus rescue me and a few thousands more from this excessively unwholesome purgatory I —l am, &c., Natator.
