Mix a tablespeonful of the extract with half: a tumbler of cold water, .and keep a cloth constantly wet with the lotion thus made applied to the part affected for several hours. Pains in the Side, Back, &c. The same lotion can be applied ; but the better way is to use the extract aa a Liniment, rubbing it thoroughly with the hand or a piece of coarse flannel.
