Mr. Hislop appeared fi-r the prosecution, and Mr. (>"J\l<•agher for Die defence. Mr. llislop said it lia.d been arranged between the opposing counsel and himself to apply for an adjournment of the case for a week. J-lis Worship granted an adjournment until Tuesday, the Bth ins!., the accused to be admitted to bail on his own recognisance of L'2'Hl. Aisrsivr lanuiwui-:. The adjourned ease, of Clara CoDman v. Sarah Farern was called on, hut as there was no appearance of Die complainant, his Worship dismissed the case, cautioning the defendant not to give the complainant cause to bring the matter before the Court again. Claim, LS, for boarding and lodging one of defendant's workmen (plaintili's son). Mr. Babner appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. O'Meagher for the defendant. A large amount of evidence was taken for the plaintiff. In his evidence the defendant denied having made any agreement with the workman in question to pay for his l-.oard while in town, the agreement being that he should hoard at, the station. After hearing argument, his Worship nonsuited the plaintiff, with costs, in favour of defendant.
