[from our own correspondents. J Dunedin, April 16. RUSH AT OUTRAM. The Guardian reports a rush at Outram, with prospects of a pennyweight to the dish. LATER. Gold was discovered at On tram yesterday by a boy. The result was a rush 011 the river bank yesterday to pan out. Ihe prospects obtained were a pennyweight to t'.io dish. There is great excitement there, as it is thought a guod lead has been discovered. THE FiSHHOOK CASE. * Great interest is centred in the result of the Fishhook inquiry to-night at Oaniaru. DROWNED AT THE BEAOH. Kobtrfc Heywood, a painter, was found drowned at the Ocean Beach on Saturday. FIRE AT CAVERSHAM. A fire took place at Cavershain on Saturday night which destroyed two shops James' (bootmaker), and Mrs. Lucas' (draper). The losses are estimated at LI2OO. Buildings and stock insured to the amount of L 575. GAOL CHAPLAINS. The Government reply that Mr. Torrance's services will be continued until they consider the whole question of gaol chaplains. The Canterbury Jockty Club held a meeting on Saturday evening, when it was decided to endorse the action of the Stewards of the North Otago Turf Club re the disqualitication of Fishhook. Ic was also decided to write to the Stewards of the Turf Club, asking the reason why Derritt, Fishhook's rider, was not disqualified, an opinion being expressed that the jockey should have been punished for the part he took in the transaction. Sir J. Craeroft Wilson was in favour of making the disqualification general, and lias given notice of his intention to move at the next meeting that Fishhook, his owner, and his rider be disqualified from racing on any course where the Club's rules are in force.
