When you are eloping with another fellow's girl don't stop to argue with the cab driver. Always make a mental memorandum of any faults you can discover in a friend, and if you do not find any, call her narrow-minded. A country paper, in an obituary notice of a subscriber's son, says : —"He was an uncommon smart boy. Had a little too much curiosity, perhaps, or he wouldn t have peered so fatally into the muzzle of his father's loaded shot-gun." An old lady, the other day, was told that eight mules were killed by lightning in an adjoining country. "Good gracious !" she exclaimed, clasping her hands over her head, " I felt in my bones that something had happened to John !"
