do, and on the impulse of the moment I tnrned round, ar.d, panting to the model, übd, ' Does pnr Majesty like thetiara I have placed or the head 1" ' Oh, yes, Mr. Gibson/ exclaimed the Queen, in a bright and smiting way, * I think it is very nice/" The incubus was removed, and from that moment till the completion of the statue Gibson had never again to complain ©f stlwnee, and the Queen herself listened with evident interest to the Roman anecdotes that Gibson related from tlie stores of his fertile memory.
