MURDER AT INVERCARGILL.
John Mojiagha.Ji has been charged with the murder of his mate, Thosin a drunken row afc Invercargill. [from a correspondent.] Invercaugill, March 21. At the Resident Magistrate's Court ysr. tirday a man named John Monaghan was charged of the murder of Thomas Cassaly.
The two men were living at the Hibernian Hotel, and having had a quarrel, Monaghan went to the murdered man's room to "have it out." The dispute was then smoothed over, and the two men had several glasses of brandy. Both' men afterwards went to bed drunk, and some time afterwards the murdered man was found tying on the floor with a severe cut on the back of his head, and a quantity of blood sprinkled about the ro jm. Medical assistance was procured, and Casserly removed to the Hospital. Hero he w r as told there was no hope of his recovering, and he then said, "Jack Monaghan killed me." The poor fellow died yesterday morning. The prisoner was remanded until after the holding of the coroner's inquest.
